PPG leads the aerospace industry in technology development for aircraft windows. PPG pioneered the development of chemically strengthened glass, complex transparent heating films, composite light weight windows, and structurally loaded cockpit windows. More recently PPG has introduced Alteos
® internative window systems or electrically dimmable cabin windows for better light management in the fuselage and an enhanced customer experience. PPG has also introduced and certified Opticor™ advanced transparency material, the only new transparent plastic for use in windows since the development of stretched acrylic. This new material is in lighter weight than stretched acrylic and almost completely craze resistant extending product life and reducing cost of ownership.
PPG can also provide windows direct to operators for several general aviation aircraft including, but not limited to Lear 45, Lear 31, Bombardier Global Express and Challenger model aircraft, Hawker 750, 800, 850, 900, 1000, Embraer Legacy 600/650 and King Air.
